Olli Kleemola

I am a 22 year old Bachelor of Social Sciences from the southwest of Finland. My areas of collecting are documents and paperwork from the Finnish Army, and trench art and military related photographs. My intention with this site is to create a place where everyone can have free access to neutral information about our country’s recent history.

Janne Niemistö

I am a 30 year old collector from Jyväskylä. I collect Lotta-Svärd material and all sorts of old stuff. Since childhood I have been very interested in history and especially the wartime, as my grandparents told me stories about those times. My interest towards the Lotta-Svärd organisation began when I realised that they are seldom mentioned anywhere. At least during my time in primary school nothing was taught about them, although they form an important part of Finland’s recent history. The Lotta’s contributed almost as much as the veterans. It would be interesting to know what had been the outcome of the war, had not that respectable existed. With that in mind I dedicate my portion of the site to all the former Lotta’s and the veterans who sacrificed their youth and health for the sake of our fatherland.
